Axis Small Cap Fund was launched as a 5 Year Close Ended Equity Scheme (with automatic conversion into an open ended equity scheme on completion of 5 years). The Scheme was converted into an open ended equity scheme w.e.f November 29, 2018.

Investment Strategies:
​
The Fund will, mainly, invest in small-cap companies. Small-cap companies, as they are in a stage of growth, may not be valued at their fair price. However, the Fund intends to identify such strong growth companies & take advantage of their future appreciation. The Scheme by utilising a holistic risk management strategy will endeavour to manage risks associated with investing in equity markets. The scheme has identified the following risks and designed risk management strategies, which are embedded in the investment process to manage these risks

i. Quality Risk - Risk of investing in unsustainable / weak companies.
ii. Price Risk - Risk of overpaying for a company
iii. Liquidity Risk - High Impact cost of entry and exit
iv. Volatility Risk - Volatility in price due to company or portfolio specific factors
v. Event Risk - Price risk due to a company / sector specific or market event
